The Role

We are looking for a Senior R&D Engineer – Motor Design to strengthen our Motors & Drives R&D team in Senago. In this role, you will take technical ownership of electric motor development for fan applications, from concept to industrialization.

This position requires strong technical independence, hands-on engineering capability, and a structured, solution-oriented mindset. While the role does not include people management, it offers significant responsibility, autonomy, and influence on product performance, efficiency, and reliability.

What You'll Be Doing

Motor Design & Development

  • Design and develop electric motors for fan applications, from concept through industrialization
  • Perform electromagnetic, thermal, and mechanical analyses using simulation tools
  • Apply relevant industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal design rules

Technical Ownership & Execution

  • Take ownership of assigned motor development activities or sub-projects
  • Identify technical risks and propose robust engineering solutions
  • Drive continuous improvement of motor designs, materials, and processes

Testing & Validation

  • Define and execute motor performance and reliability tests
  • Analyse test results and implement design improvements
  • Support root cause analysis of technical issues during testing or production

Collaboration & Communication

  • Collaborate closely with R&D, manufacturing, quality, and cross-functional teams
  • Communicate complex technical topics clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Support customer-facing technical discussions when needed, with a solution-focused approach

Documentation

  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including calculations, design descriptions, test reports, and change requests
  • Contribute to internal technical reviews and engineering decision-making

 

What We're Looking For

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related field

Experience

  • Several years of experience in electric motor design and development
  • Strong understanding of electromagnetic design principles and motor manufacturing processes
  • Proven ability to work independently on engineering tasks or projects

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in CAD tools and motor simulation software (e.g. Motor-CAD or similar)
  • Ability to analyse simulation and test data and translate results into design improvements
  • Structured, analytical, and solution-oriented engineering approach

  • Proactive, responsible, and reliable in managing own tasks
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to challenge ideas constructively

Other Requirements

  • Willingness to travel occasionally for project meetings, testing, and collaboration with global teams and suppliers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • English language skills at B2–C1 level
