BI Architect – Backend Developer

Shape the data foundation of a global industrial growth company

Multi-Wing is a global leader in customized axial fans and impellers for engine cooling, HVAC&R, and industrial applications. Founded in Denmark in 1938, we have grown into an international organization with presence in 19 countries, 14 production sites, and sales in more than 80 markets.

Our mission is to shape airflow for future generations by optimizing aerodynamics, reducing noise, lowering energy consumption, and supporting the global transition toward more sustainable solutions.

Backed by Altor Equity Partners since 2021, Multi-Wing is on an ambitious growth journey with a clear goal to at least double in size by 2028. To support this transformation, we are strengthening our global Finance and BI organization - and we are now looking for a highly skilled BI Architect – Backend Developer to take long-term ownership of our newly established data platform and BI architecture.

The Opportunity

This is a pivotal role in Multi-Wing’s digital and data transformation. As BI Architect, you will play a central role in designing and evolving our enterprise BI platform built on Microsoft Fabric, ensuring reliable data quality, scalability, and governance across the organization.

Working closely with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, IT, and Analytics teams globally, you will translate business needs into high-performance, standardized, and future-proof data solutions - creating a true single source of truth for decision-making.

This role offers significant influence over technology choices, architecture standards, and the BI roadmap, with the potential to grow into broader data or digital leadership responsibilities over time.

What You'll Be Doing

Architecture & Platform Leadership

  • Design, govern, and continuously evolve the backend architecture of Multi-Wing’s BI and analytics platform (Microsoft Fabric core)
  • Define enterprise standards for data layers, modelling approaches, integration patterns, naming conventions, and performance optimization
  • Act as technical authority for architectural decisions related to ingestion, transformation, modelling, security, and governance

Data Delivery & Roadmap Ownership

  • Own the roadmap for backend BI and data platform development, from concept to implementation and operationalization
  • Ensure data initiatives deliver measurable business value with high quality, reliability, and performance
Identify and mitigate risks related to scalability, data quality, system dependencies, and stakeholder adoption

Stakeholder Partnership & Advisory

  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders across Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, and IT
  • Translate business requirements into sustainable and well-governed data products
  • Advise on KPI frameworks, reporting foundations, and data-driven decision-making maturity

Governance & Continuous Improvement

  • Establish best practices around documentation, lineage, access control, compliance, and data quality monitoring
  • Drive continuous improvements in platform cost transparency, performance, and maintainability

Capability Building

  • Mentor BI and analytics colleagues through best practices and architectural guidance
  • Foster a collaborative culture of shared standards and technical excellence across regions

What We're Looking For

  • 5–8+ years of experience in enterprise BI, data engineering, and data architecture, ideally in industrial, manufacturing, or global business environments
  • Strong hands-on expertise in SQL-based data modelling, integration, and cloud analytics platforms
  • Solid experience with Microsoft Fabric, data pipelines, lakehouse/warehouse environments, and semantic modelling for Power BI
  • Proven track record designing end-to-end enterprise BI platforms - from source system ingestion to governed reporting layers
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence across a matrix organization
  • A structured, proactive, and business-oriented mindset with a passion for scalable and reliable data foundations
  • Fluency in English
  • A relevant Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Modelling, or similar

What We Offer

  • A key role in shaping the data platform of a rapidly growing global company
  • High impact and visibility across Finance and business leadership
  • International collaboration with teams across Europe, US, Mexico, and APAC
  • Competitive compensation package including pension
  • Travel expected: approximately 20–30 days per year
  • A collaborative culture where continuous improvement and innovation are core values
