We have designed the 2ZL impeller in aluminium
with the purpose of providing you with a sickle-shaped blade that endures working conditions
with a temperature range from -40˚C to +150˚C. The blade will be in stock by November 2005.
The 2ZL/AL impeller is specifically developed for low noise applications such as evaporative
cooling, engine cooling including coil coolers, intercoolers, off-road equipment, compressors, and generators.
How to reduce noise emission In order to develop the low noise blade, we focused on different noise sources:
Stagnation at the leading edge
Pressure fluctuations on the suction side of the blade
Trailing edge noise from the turbulent boundary layer on the suction side
Tip noise
Most of these sources are unavoidable, however, the characteristic design of the blade reduces them.
The forward sweep of the blade minimizes the noise generated by pressure fluctuations. A thin leading
and trailing edge also contribute to a reduction in noise. Last but not least, a reduction in the operating
speed has a significant impact on the noise. Therefore, the sickle-shaped blade has a high-pressure capability,
which enables the blade to have the same pressure as conventional blades and run at a lower speed than conventional
blades.
Design features:
The 2Z/AL has a high solidity, a high performance and low power consumption.
The 2ZL/AL is optimised for a 7 bladed Z-hub. The maximum diameter of the impeller in a 7 bladed Z-hub is 709 mm. The 2Z/AL can, however, also be used in the 5, 8, 9, 12 and 16 bladed Z-hub.
The 2ZL is available in aluminium, glass-reinforced polyamide (PAG) coloured grey and industrial glass-reinforced polyamide (PAGI) coloured black. Aluminium has a temperature range from -40˚C to +150˚C, PAG and PAGI a temperature range from -40˚C to +110˚C.
