W-boss extensions available in June

Over the last couple of years, noise emission regulations have been intensified within the refrigeration and radiator market, resulting in the development of low-noise impellers. Today Multi-Wing offers an extensive range of low-noise impellers to be used in many air moving applications.

Low-noise impellers are characterized by the sickle shaped design of the blade. The curved leading edge of the blade reduces the noise generated during the blade passage, and the very thin trailing edge of the blade causes the vortex to shed more easily, contributing to a lower noise level.

As the sickle shaped blade is much broader and takes up more room than a standard airfoil profile, the use of low-noise impellers triggered a need for longer bosses to fit the motor shaft. This was the main reason why we decided to develop boss extensions. The first boss extensions to be introduced to the market were universal boss extensions; and as this was a big success, we are now launching W-boss extensions. The W-boss extensions will be available in June 2007.

The universal boss extensions are available in three different lengths: 10mm, 20mm and 40mm; whereas the W-boss extensions will be available in two lengths: 20mm and 40mm.

Universal boss extensions and W-boss extensions accommodate of course not only sickle shaped impellers, but also standard impellers. Boss extensions are used in general when you need a longer boss to fit the motor shaft.
