We have decided to discontinue producing the 3WL blades in industrial glass reinforced polyamide (PAGI) due to the material’s lack of consistency when casting. Although it did not affect the finished quality of the blade, the material led to increased cycle times which completely erased the cost advantage. The 3WL blades will be available in glass reinforced polypropylene (PPG) instead as a cost-efficient alternative to glass reinforced polyamide (PAG).

The 3WL is the largest sickle shaped blade of the Multi-Wing sickle range with a maximum diameter of 1981mm. The 3WL impeller is specifically aimed at applications where low noise capabilities are demanded such as cooling towers, dry coolers and condensers.
The key benefits of the 3WL impeller are:
  • low noise emission due to the sickle profile
  • larger pressure capability than the 9W
  • high performance at lower speeds
The 3WL blades are designed to have the highest efficiencies in a 5 and 6 bladed hub and in an 8 and 10 bladed hub with half the blades. The blades are available with a fully adjustable pitch from 20° to 55° in glass reinforced polyamide (PAG) and now also in glass reinforced polypropylene (PPG).

Please contact Multi-Wing International a·s or your local sales office for further information. The 3WL impeller is available throughout the worldwide distributor network.
