Windmill Generating Supplementary Energy

Multi-Wing International a·s has entered a joint project with a Scottish based company, Windsave, in order to design a small windmill that provides supplementary electricity into existing electricity systems. The windmill is based on the idea that it is possible to reduce the consumption and cost of electricity by generating a supply of supplementary electricity from the wind.

The key components of the windmill are: a slow-turn generator, provided by Windsave, two 3 bladed W-retaining plates, a universal boss, a 3 bladed fan with a diameter of 1.75m and a nose cone, all provided by Multi-Wing. The system can be mounted onto almost any building or can be installed as a multiple-unit.
The windmill starts to generate power at 3-4m/s with a rated output of 1kW 12m/s. By using low wind speeds to create electricity, the use of batteries is eliminated. The supplementary electricity enters directly into the main electricity system of the property, and leaves no stored electricity.

Test units have been running for several months, and all tests have shown very positive results both with regards to performance, vibration and noise levels. Altogether, the windmill has no significant vibration or noise, and generates considerable amounts of electricity. Because the windmill is virtually noiseless, unobtrusive, and affordable, many commercial and residential properties find the system very attractive.

What also interests the consumer is its environmental impact. Today, there is an increased awareness on sustainable, renewable energy and consumption. The Windsave windmill provides the consumer with the capability of generating a supply of electricity from wind energy, thereby creating a renewable source of electricity and promoting a more efficient energy consumption. Harnessing the wind’s possibilities, the Windsave windmill can reduce the cost of electricity, enabling allotment of resources to other priorities.
