| Capping off a strong year of new product introductions, innovative product
features and strong sales, Multi-Wing International a·s reports an increase in sales by approximately 20%.
Total sales for 2004 reached approximately 100M DKK (€13.5M), up from about 83M DKK (€11.2M) a year earlier. Thomas Haderup, managing director, states: “We are very pleased with the increase in sales in 2004. For the past 3-4 years, the company has experienced a steady moderate growth. However, the 2004 increase in sales is the absolute best in the company’s entire history.” Mr. Haderup attributes the large sales increase to growth throughout the entire distributor network. “The distributor network is stronger, more developed, and geographically wider than in past years. Production capacities are expanded at all distributors in Europe, Asia, and the United States. The addition of our Multi-Wing subsidiary in China will accelerate growth in an already favourable Asian market.” |

Mr. Haderup continues: “Multi-Wing’s improved sales appear to be continuing. First quarter FY2005 sales in the United States indicate another record year with a growth rate above 20%. To support this high growth rate, production capacity and organizational staff of the United States distributor is significantly increased.” Multi-Wing International a·s has made a long-term investment in China. A subsidiary company is established, a sales and engineering staff is hired, and production has begun. Discussing the reasons for a Chinese subsidiary, Mr. Haderup explains, “First and foremost China is and will continue to be the fastest growing market for at least next decade. In order to be a global brand we must be there. Further, it would be impossible for us to compete in the market without a local presence. Language and logistics are just the beginning of the problems.” |

“In addition to
supporting the local market, Multi-Wing China will also
play an important role in ensuring a positive
development in the products’ cost structure, enabling
Multi-Wing to deliver products at very competitive
prices.” On the impact of new product introductions Mr. Haderup states, “The 2004 sales figures strongly reflect the introduction of several new products throughout 2003 and 2004. The aluminum range, 6W profile, and the 2.5-meter diameter 10G impeller have made stronger than anticipated first and second year impact on sales.” In late 2004 Multi-Wing International a·s launched two new low-noise sickle-shaped impellers, designated 1Z and 2Z. Compared to standard design impellers, 1Z and 2Z impellers emit 3-5 dB less noise operating at the same speed while producing the same volume and pressure. Multi-Wing International a·s anticipates that the sickle-shaped range will significantly contribute to increased sales in 2005 and beyond. |
| Mr. Haderup, on
the subject of new designs, and Multi-Wing
International’s position in the global market for
axial impellers: “The new Sickle range has great potential due to many favourable product characteristics, not the least is the low sound levels. The launching of the 1Z and the 2Z is only the beginning. In order to meet customer demands, the plan is to extend the sickle shaped range to all of the large impeller series in 2005, enabling us to support customers with low noise designs in diameters up to 2000 mm.” “Multi-Wing International a·s aims at being the strongest and most flexible supplier. No other supplier in the market is capable of matching Multi-Wing’s ability to ensure competitive prices, offer well-documented technical support, and deliver the best air movement solution. The extensive worldwide field experience and disciplined problem solving approach makes Multi-Wing the better choice.” |
