| In order to meet the demands of the Noise Emission Directive, which involves reducing overall noise exposure and noise nuisance, Multi-Wing International a·s has designed two low-noise sickle-shaped fan blades, 1Z and 2Z. These fan blades have an extremely low noise level due to a large pressure capability allowing a lower RPM. What reduce the noise even further are the sickle shape and the thin trailing edge. The 1Z and the 2Z sickle shaped blades are specifically aimed at the evaporative cooling market, radiator applications, and engine cooling applications such as coil coolers, intercoolers, off highway equipment, compressors, and generators. The 1Z and the 2Z blades have a high solidity due to a large chord length. In addition, they are designed to have a high performance and low power consumption. Finally, the blades are extremely cost efficient because you now need less blades than earlier to achieve the same pressure. |

The difference between 1Z and 2Z is that the 2Z blade is an up-scaled version of 1Z intended for a larger diameter range. In a 7 bladed Z-hub the maximum diameter of the 1Z blade is 578 mm., while the maximum diameter of the 2Z blade is 706 mm. The 1Z and 2Z can be used in the 5, 7, 8, 9, 12 and 16 bladed Z-hub. |
