Leicester based Multi-Wing UK Ltd has just been registered as an ISO/TS16949:2002 company. This prestigious quality mark is awarded to companies that supply products to the automotive industry and so demands world-class levels of quality, service and customer focus.

“Not many companies our size would consider making the investment to put TS in place”, said Stephen Hoggar, Managing Director of Multi-Wing UK, “but implementing it has made a huge difference to the way we work”.

Multi-Wing UK Ltd passed the assessment at the first attempt after a two day rigorous assessment by the quality registration body NQA. The company was supported in the process by CEA (The Construction Industry Association) and by Colin Smith of Smith Consulting. Smith commented “In my experience it is very rare for a company to become TS registered at the first attempt. It is also rare to see this amount of dedication and commitment at every level in the company from senior management down.”

The company has changed its factory layout and its working procedures and has embarked on the longer term challenge of culture change. It is now prepared to embark on a new phase in the company’s history and more especially to focus on the engine cooling market. Hoggar continued, "We saw ISO/TS16949 not only as a fully comprehensive mechanism to reduce costs and waste but also as a means to achieve recognition within the automotive industry as serious contenders in the supply chain. In our pursuit of other markets, we want engine manufacturers to take us seriously as high quality suppliers of cooling fans of unmatchable and consistent quality that are delivered on time - 100% of the time".  view certificate
