When training as a truck mechanic, Lars never thought he would end up working as a area sales manager. After finishing his training, he had many different kinds of jobs. He worked as a welder and an industrial mechanic; and he started a company selling computer hardware and a company mounting car electrics and auxiliaries.
“What made me apply for a job as production employee at Multi-Wing International a•s was a combination of different circumstances; among other factors the high stress level of being a self-employed person. A hiring company sent me to Multi-Wing, where I talked to the Production Manager who hired me on the spot. The work was more demanding than I expected, and there was a lot of work. However, the work load didn’t matter because my colleagues were nice, and the company made an effort to lower the work load”, says Lars.
Lars was permanently employed after three months. He started to have more paperwork assignments and operated as a team leader when his colleague Per Pedersen was absent.
Change of position
“After working as a production employee for 5 months, a position as a sales co-ordinator opened and I applied. I had an interview with the HR manager, and I was chosen for the position between many other candidates from outside the organisation. After accepting the position, I began to have some doubts as the new position meant a complete change of environment, tasks and colleagues. I was going to sit in an office all day long, which I had never done before: Could I do that? What if I didn’t like it? I decided to give it a chance, and I must say that I am glad I did. It is both exciting and educational, and I learn something new every day, as I have no experience in this type of work”, says Lars.
Today, Lars is in charge of sales to Danish customers along with the order processing. “I enjoy the work and I look forward to coming to work every day as I face new, exiting challenges”, says Lars.
